To you all – and just to repeat what I said last night – thanks for your professionalism and patience at last night’s event. It was not easy, and you all did a fantastic job under very difficult circumstances. There will no doubt be more difficult meetings, but our experience elsewhere is that a consistent and persistent willingness to properly engage with the communities does pay dividends. Some may not be convinced until we have demonstrated our conduct on the ground, and some may never be convinced, but we will ultimately get the social licence that we need from the larger and more reasonable sector of the community. I am convinced that we came out of last night with our heads held high, and a lot of the more reasonable members of the community would have been left with a much better impression of our conduct than that of the protestors. So thanks once again

A sensational effort by all of you. It is not always easy to maintain your spirits and composure in these circumstances, but you were all very focussed and dedicated to the task at hand - and it has had very tangible results
